Ben Jones
On Saturday, July 11th 2015, Ace Gallery Beverly Hills presented a major solo exhibit by Ben Jones. The self-titled exhibition, Ben Jones, transformed Ace Gallery into an immersive space filled with Video Paintings and wall-climbing New Ladder sculptures as well as the introduction of T.V. Paintings and Cinema Paintings.
Ben Jones’ work is a constant push and pull between the investigation and celebration of the 8-bit video medium, visual storytelling, immersive space experience and Minimalism. Characterized by its vivid colors, distinct shapes, and approach to minimal and digital abstraction that is intended to completely immerse the viewer into the artist’s imaginative reality. Painted shadows and optical tricks play with the viewer’s sense of perspective, time and place; it’s like walking into a cartoon world where anything is possible. Reoccurring visuals, such as bricks and ladders, create an almost mystical set of symbols, which contributes to his visual language.
Ben Jones’ exhibit will be on view at Ace Gallery through September 2015. For more information visit their website at www.AceGallery.net
